Child marriage violates the rights of children. Child marriage refers to any formal or informal marriage between a child under the age of 18.
Early marriage seriously harms the development of girls.
Causes of child marriage includes: poverty, bride price, dowries, cultural traditions.
Child marriage has been common throughout and countries to be sweeping.
An addition factor causing child marriage is the parental belief that early marriage offer protection to their children. Child marriage is truly a global problem. It can also be caused due to financial problems.
How can we stop child marriage?
• Making girls to continue education.
• making approach to health services.
• Advocating for girls rights.
• Fork out economic support and incentives to girls and their families.
• Inspirit supportive laws and policies.
Childhood means simplicity, innocence and colourful period of time. So, every child should get equal rights to relish their childhood.
We all must work together and raise a voice against this problem.
