An Awareness Session on Tobacco Addiction and Vaping Hazards on World Anti-Tobacco Day.

Break free and let your dreams breathe.’Jleeb, June 1, 2023: Indian Education School, Bhavans Kuwait observed World Anti-Tobacco Day on May 31, 2023. Dr. Ali Asgar Jetajee, an eminent doctor from Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital, the keynote speaker, sensitized the audience on the health risks of consuming tobacco.
The program commenced with a warm welcome extended by Ms. Meenakshi Nayyar, the Senior Vice Principal. Subsequently, the Vice President of the Student Council, Fida Ancy, introduced the speaker and the topic of the day with her lovely bouquet of words, capturing the audience's attention and setting the tone for the enlightening session.

Dr. Jetajee initiated the presentation by shedding light on the history of Anti-Tobacco Day, providing valuable insights into the significance of this global observance. He then delved into the intricate web of addiction, elucidating the ways in which individuals fall into the pernicious trap of smoking. Dr. Jetajee spoke with special emphasis on the alarming trend of teen smoking, highlighting the reasons why children are drawn to cigarettes. He debunked common misconceptions surrounding smoking and its effects while conveying a powerful message to the young attendees about the dire consequences of tobacco consumption. Furthermore, he cited many instances to educate the students about the ill effects of consuming tobacco in any form and its impact on their bodies.

The students were captivated by Dr. Jetajee's inspiring quotes on smoking. The doctor's presentation then shifted focus towards the prevalent issue of vaping. He addressed how industries lure their customers, especially impressionable young individuals, into purchasing these harmful products. Dr. Jetajee unveiled the reasons behind teenagers' continued inclination towards smoking, even after being aware of the detrimental effects of both vaping and smoking. He also shed light on the passive effects of smoking, underscoring how it impacts non-smokers as well.

The seminar was an enlightening and eye-opening experience for the students. Dr. Jetajee's expertise on dealing with issues related to tobacco use, and his insights on the harmful effects on the health of the users left an indelible impact on the youngsters. In her closing address the senior vice principal, Ms. Meenakshi Nayyar, expressed her gratitude on behalf of the management, staff and student community of the school to Indian Doctors Forum Kuwait for initiating this Anti vaping drive in Indian Schools in Kuwait to prevent young children from falling into the dangerous trap of vaping at such a young age. The seminar concluded with words of gratitude by Daya Vinil of 9G.

The session ended with the message: Make informed choices to protect one's health. Keep away from smoking and vaping. Be smart, don’t start!
