Electrical load index jumps as temperature increases

With the rise in temperature, the electrical load index jumped to 14,250 megawatts on Monday, which is the highest since the beginning of this summer. According to reports, the temperature on Monday reached 43 degrees Celsius.

Coordinated efforts are begin taken to launch the northern Khairan and Al-Zour power stations to strengthen the electrical and water network in the country. Sources said that the Khairan station will produce 1800 megawatts of electricity and produces desalinated water with a capacity of 33 million gallons per day, while Al-Zour plant, the second and third phases, produces 2700 megawatts of energy, and produces desalinated water with a capacity of 120 million gallons per day.
