Over 2 lakh cards ready for collection; PACI urges public to collect Civil ID card

Over 2 lakh Civil ID cards are ready for collection at PACI self service machines, which hinders the issuance of new cards. According to report, the number of cards ready for delivery in the PACI devices at its headquarters and its two branches in Al-Jahra and Al-Ahmadi is estimated at 211,000 cards whose owners did not come forward to receive them.

The sources pointed out that the accumulation of cards in the devices hinders work to speed up the issuance of new cards. Currently the authority are giving preference to citizens and residence under Article 20 and children under 5 years for issuing cards, while other cards are getting ready as per the capacity of the smart devices that are installed.

PACI, on Monday, called on citizens and residents to collect their cards, which are ready in the self-service machines, at the earliest without delay.
