Animals – when we hear this word, the first thing that comes to our minds are the pictures of these unique and wonderful creatures, when someone asks us to define an animal we might go to google and search for the definition and we might see that ‘Animals are multicellular eukaryotic organisms in the biological kingdom Animalia’. And a lot more of stuff. But basically when we hear the term animals we think of forests, farms our houses were pets live and a lot more. But very few people might think about the streets and roads, here the stray cats and dogs live. When we see how these animals live a miserable life, it just makes us feel sad, and feel pity for them. But have we done anything to help them? There are many ways in which we could help these poor little creatures.

The main reason such a topic came to my mind is when I recently saw a few dogs continuously wandering around the street where I live. The first day, just after my bath I came out and was soaking wet and had a towel wrapped up around me I went to the window to just have a peep, but something caught my attention, ‘a dog’, it was in a panic, when vehicles approached it leaped, and chased it and trying to catch up with it. It also tried to bite the tire of cars passing by.

When I saw this scene for the first time I thought it might be quite angry, but as vehicles passed it continued its pursuit. I was confused, so I took a video of it and sent to my dad, and then called my mom who was fighting a hard and long battle to teach my brother, well as a generally accepted theory when the mother goes the kid follows her. Well in this case as my mother came, my brother too came to see what’s happening. And what a surprise it was for both of them. Then I decided to call my father and we had a small chat. But the thing I noticed was that even though the dog seemed to be in panic, it still seemed to be pretty calm, because it wasn’t chasing the people walking beside it.

On the second day we saw 2 other dogs roaming around the street. Then after some days we saw some small cute little puppies’. We understood that it had given birth, and that was when it struck, these dogs were actually brought up in luxurious homes. And they were dumped on later. That was why the dogs were panicking and chasing the cars. Just imagine yourself living a pleasant life filled with all comforts and then losing everything and being abandoned!!! Then after a few days the dogs started to develop a connection with the children living in the street. One day we saw a small Arab kid riding a big black dog.

One day after a long and busy shopping in Lulu, we came back home and my dad was parking the car, we saw a dead cat lying, as it had been hit by a car, some other cats were also around that dead cat. An old man walking by, came and took that dead cat and dropped it in the garbage, and then from his huge bag, took out some milk in a bowl and gave it to the small cats, which were following him. When we saw that scene we felt as if the old man had given a comfort to those sad kittens, providing them a moment of peace. The next day we saw a pack of dogs following that old man, maybe he might be feeding those dogs too.

That old man was kind hearted that he gave away the milk which he bought for his own purposes to some poor little kitten. Definitely we can’t say that this world is full of corrupt, behind the dark shadows there are small patches of light. And if these patches of light are also covered by the dark shadows we could not call this world as a place of joy and knowledge. Nowadays the dogs are a bit weary and tired and frequently move from place to place, but still they don’t go out of our block. But the sad thing is summer…, since they had grown up in cool and ventilated homes, we could not predict how they could handle the scorching heat that is awaiting them. The only way for them to survive is by sending them to a rehabilitation center. We should not only consider the comfort of ourselves but we should also care for the wellbeing of other animals too. If we are not able keep a pet and give a good life for it, then why should we spoil its life?
