Kuwait National Men’s team led by Captain Mnm Aslam and the contracted players were appreciated and rewarded by KCC Board President Haider Farman at his diwaniya along with Director General Sajid Ashraf & Kuwait National Team Manager Mahmoud Abdullah for their good performance at the Asia Cup Qualifiers.

Earlier this month, Kuwait team in association with FRiENDi mobile Kuwait and powered by Al Muzaini Exchange Co. qualified for the Semi finals of the Asian Cricket Council Men’s Premier Cup after their famous maiden victory against Hong Kong in Kathmandu and finished their campaign ranked 4th out of a total of top 10 associate countries in Asia (2nd in group stages behind UAE).

Kuwait faced host Cricket Association of Nepal-CAN in the semis where a passionate crowd of more than 20000 Nepalese people turned up to support the host country. Nepal dominated the entire match and was very much in a commanding position before rain had the final say against Kuwait. Nepal went through to the finals based on higher ranking and deservingly, went on to win the tournament against UAE and qualify for Asia Cup as well.

Kuwait’s 3rd position battle against Oman in a low scoring affair also couldn’t conclude due to rain and with a higher ranking in ODI’s, Oman finished 3rd and qualified for the emerging teams Asia Cup.

This is the first time Kuwait broke into the top 4 of Associate Cricket in Asia in 50 overs cricket where Nepal, UAE, Oman and Hong Kong have dominated in the past two decades.

Since this was a first major international 50 overs cricket tournament for Kuwait after 7 long years, well done to the Kuwait National Men’s team and clearly, our boys have all the potential and talent to qualify for Asia Cups in the future and we wish them all the best 🇰🇼🏏

A big thank you to the fans, followers and supporters of Kuwait cricket team 🙌🏻✌️
