IES proved their mettle in Global Laser Run 2023

They focused, they ran and brought home laurels!

Indian Education School, Bhavans Kuwait, has always been admired and feted for the outstanding performance of young Bhavanites in the field of Sports. To add yet another golden feather to the crowning glory of IES, the zestful and focused budding athletes of IES proved their mettle in Lazer Run 2023.

Global Lazer Run 2023, was organised by Kuwait Modern Pentathlon Committee under the aegis of Kuwait Olympic Committee on March 9, 2023 at Kuwait Olympic Committee ground. It is a multisport competition consisting of running and shooting. Laser Run combines Running and Shooting in fast-paced and dynamic races including rounds of laser pistol shooting from 5 to 10 meters distance and running laps from 300m to 600m. Athletes must hit in the green a target 5 times before they can run. More than 270 students from various National and International schools participated in the event.

With the immense encouragement received from the Principal, Mr. T. Premkumar, twenty-eight students of Bhavans Indian Education School Kuwait participated in the Lazer Run. Neha Susan Biju won the Gold Medal in under 17 Girls. Lakshaya Raj and Dhruva Baradwaj won silver and bronze medal respectively in the under 19 boys’ category. The winners were felicitated by the president of Kuwait Modern Pentathlon Committee, Mr. Fawaz Al Jassar. It was a new, first-time experience for the students, and they participated in the sport with vigor and pride.

On behalf of the Bhavans fraternity, the Chairman Mr. N.K. Ramachandran Menon extolled the winners for their relentless effort and stellar performance. The principal, Mr. T. Premkumar appreciated Mr. Marimuthan Muniyasamy for training and escorting the athletes and congratulated the Head of the Physical Education Department, Dr Murugaiyan for his consistent effort in introducing new sporting events in the school and opening doors of opportunities for students.
