Baselio 2023-24 inaugurated by H.G. Dr. Abraham Mar Seraphim

The year-long Golden Jubilee celebrations of Mar Baselios Movement has been inaugurated by His Grace Dr. Abraham Mar Seraphim, Metropolitan of Bangalore and the Assistant Metropolitan of Thumpamon Diocese.

The 59th memorial feast of His Holiness Baselios Geevarghese II, the Patron Saint of Mar Baselios Movement, 3rd Catholicos of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church and the 49th anniversary of Mar Baselios Movement, was held at United Indian School Auditorium, Jleeb. This auspicious Golden Jubilee inauguration event was presided by Rev. Fr. Liju K Ponnachan, Vicar of Kuwait Orthodox Maha Edavaka and President of Mar Baselios Movement Kuwait.



The program began with a Christian musical delight, organized by the MBM family members. Mr. Thomas Kuruvilla, the Vice President of Mar Baselios Movement and the Malankara Sabha Managing Committee member, welcomed the gathering and Mr. Jerry John Koshy, the MBM Golden Jubilee General Convenor and Calcutta Diocese Media Coordinator, expressed the word of gratitude.

Rev. Fr. Jijo P. Abraham, the “Acharya” of “Christa Sishya Ashram, Thadagam, Coimbatore” and Mr. Roy K. Yohannan, the Secretary of the National Evangelical Church Kuwait, felicitated the function.



As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations, H.G. Dr. Abraham Mar Seraphim, officially inaugurated the Mar Baselios Movement Project in association with the Bishop Walsh Memorial Hospital which is under the Christa Sishya Ashram Thadagam, Coimbatore.

Rev. Dr. Biju Parackkal, Rev. Fr. Geevarghese John, Mr. Sabu Elias, the Parish Treasurer, Mr. Isaac Varghese, the Parish Secretary, Mr. Jubin P. Oommen, MBM Secretary and Mr. Joy George Mullamthanam, MBM Treasurer were present during the event.

Mar Baselios Movement, which was founded in 1974 as a spiritual and charitable organization of St. Gregorios Indian Orthodox Maha Edavaka, is entering its fiftieth anniversary by providing helping hands to the needy of the society irrespective of Caste, Creed, Colour, or Religion.
