About a million Dinar transaction in first 10 hours of Apple Pay in Kuwait

In the first 10 hours of activating Apple Pay in Kuwait, the customers in Kuwait completed transactions of about one million dinars. About 70,000 customers activated the service in all six banks, including KFH, NBK, Gulf bank, Boubyan, Commercial bank and Al Ahli United. Rest of the Kuwaiti banks are expected to activate the service very soon.
About half of the initial transactions were conducted through KFH and NBA collectively.
The first Apple Pay transactions happened at about 6:00 am. Average value of the transactions ranged between 50 to 70 dinars
Reports indicated that about 5,000 transactions were carried out by clients of a single bank in the initial one hour of launching the service.
