Central Bank bans charging fees from customers for electronic payment

The Central Bank of Kuwait issued a circular, which prohibits companies and service provides from charging any fee from customers for all electronic payment services.

“It is prohibited for all practitioners of electronic payment business activity to collect any fees or commissions from the customer, who are the end users," the circular said. The circular also said all such service providers to update their contractual agreements accordingly.
