Dispose your waste and get vouchers! EPA install reverse vending machines for plastic waste collection

Thursday, December 1, 2022

In order to create environmental awareness, the Environment Public Authority (EPA), in coordination with the Environment Protection Fund, has installed reverse vending machines (RVMs) at some locations to reward to advocates of waste sorting and recycling.

The machine does not take papers; It collects glass, plastic and metal containers only with the aim of recycling them and using them again in various industries, including ready-made clothes, carpets, bags and others.

Anyone who puts the waste inside this device gets points that can be exchanged for vouchers.

One such machine is placed at the EPA headquarters, another at Al-Jahraa reserve and the third at the premises of Kuwait Oil Company. The plan is to install many of them at cooperative stores and at various points in the country.
