Indian Lawyers Forum Kuwait celebrated ONAM - 2022

'INDIAN LAWYERS’ FORUM', the association of Indian Lawyers and Law Graduates in Kuwait celebrated ONAM, Kerala’s unique, secular harvest festival celebrated by all Keralites wherever they are, at Salmiya, Kuwait on Friday 28th October 2022 . Majority Members, their families and friends turned out in strength and graced the occasion through their active participation.
The Chief Guest of the Function was Shri Thomas K. Thomas the Kuttanadu MLA who is an NRI from Kuwait. Forum arranged a grand welcome for our MLA. The function was presided over by the President Advocate Palavilayil Thomas Panicker and the Onam Celebration was inaugurated by Shri Thomas K. Thomas, MLA by Lighting the Traditional Lamp along with President of the Forum, General Secretary Adv. Suresh Pulikkal, Senior Advisors Adv.John Thomas, Adv. Rajesh Sagar, General Convenor Adv. Mohammed Basheer, Adv. Shibin Jose Treasurer, Adv. Lalji George, Adv. Priya Haridas, Adv. Jaseena Basheer, Adv. Thomas Stephen and Adv. Vinod and Others.
President in his speech welcomed again everybody to the function and thanked the members for the large turnout. The President while highlighting the activities of the Forum emphasized the necessity and utility of the Forum's activities to the members & local Indian Community in Kuwait and reiterated that the Forum would continue its endeavor to provide legal advice/guidance to the needy members of the Indian Community.
Function began with rendering of National Anthems. Prayer song was by Rajesh.
Welcome Speech was delivered by Adv. Md. Basheer. In his welcome speech he highlighted the serious problem of increase of high consumption rate of drugs among our student and youths in Kerala and the easy availability of different types of Drugs. He requested our MLA to use his good office to force the Government to pass new laws to strengthen the actions taken against the availability and usage of Drugs among our Youths.
Key Note address was delivered by ILF General Secretary Suresh Pulikkal . He gave an elaborate picture of ILF Legal Aid Cell at the Indian Embassy and details of Forum Activities.
Adv. Aishwarya Rajesh Compered the program. Binoy Sebastian BPP President, Kishore Sebastian PASTCOS president, Sibi Thomas did felicitation speeches from the guests. Vote of Thanks was by Adv. Shibin Jose Treasurer of the Forum.
Various cultural programs followed, the tradition Thiruvathira was performed under the leadership of Adv. Aiswrya Rajesh and Oppana was staged under the leadership of Adv Jaseena Basheer, the professional orchestra, special drums performance and dances were performed. With the Traditional Onasadhya (A special traditional delicious meals with 26 items) arranged by Sun Rise International, the program was concluded.
