New Indian School -Mangaf Celebrated Gandhi Jayanti

Enthralling Gandhi Jayanthi day 2022-Celebrations at New Indian School, Mangaf. The day was celebrated with great splendour and jauntiness at NIS on 2nd October 2022.
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated to commemorate the 153 birthday of Mohandas Karam Chand Gandhi, popularly known as Mahatma Gandhi or ‘Bapu’. Students of Grade VI conducted the Special Assembly on Gandhi Jayanti.


Students from classes V to IX participated in the program that was aimed at creating awareness and inculcating Gandhian values of humanity, brotherhood, and secularism. The school remembered this greatest motivator and independence campaigner of his time through various activities. The special assembly started with a heart-melting prayer song sung by the school choir. A student of grade VI Mohammad Maroof came dressed up as Gandhiji and he raised slogans spreading Bapu’s messages of non-violence, truth, and patriotism. Students of grade VI Adam Sabir and Aishwarya shared their thoughts and feelings about this great legendary leader.







A beautiful “Thought for the day” was delivered by Mark peter and Navya. Under the guidance of the teacher, the students of grade VI put up a fantabulous group song, group dance and excellent speech on the occasion. Students clad in the colours of the Indian flag set the tune of foot-tapping Gandhiji ‘s song. The performance was every bit exquisite and therefore bagged applauds and appreciation of all. The day was filled with an array of activities for students from classes v to IX. All the activities and essay writing were designed keeping in mind the great leader- Mahatma Gandhi and his teachings. Principal Ms. Anita Sadanand addressed the gathering and motivated the students with her encouraging words of wisdom. She further narrated incidents from Mahatma Gandhi’s life and his well-documented “Experiments with Truth” which serve as a great way of inculcating values in youngsters.









Gandhi stressed that one should always live one’s philosophies, beliefs, and faith and he was a prime example of that, Gandhi was truly the “Father of the Nation” and as we pay our tribute to him, we must never forget the message of his life. Teachers and students took oath to follow the path of non-violence. The assembly culminated with the rendition of the National Anthem.
