Repairing works of Derwazat Al-Abdul Razzaq Tunnel begins

Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport begins the repairing works for Derwazat Al-Abdul Razzaq Tunnel in Kuwait city, which was closed since November 2020.

The Minister of Public Works and Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Ali Al-Mousa, today inaugurated the repair work.

The work includes inspection, tests, concrete works for the tunnel body, works to remove, renew and maintain all layers of insulation, joints, and change the anchor platforms, is expected to take 90 days to complete.

The Tunnel, at the heart of Kuwait city was closed for about two year after cracks has been noticed on the tunnel.
