Traffic department ready for new academic year; Urge parents to leave home early

The Director-General of the General Department of Public Relations and Security Media at the Ministry of Interior, Major General Tawhid Abdullah Al-Kandari, announced that the relevant security sectors have taken all security and traffic measures in preparation for the start of the new academic term with its full preparation.

About 204,091 students are expected to start new academic year with a comprehensive attendance in kindergarten and primary school.

Meanwhile, Kuwait University will receive 42,136 students tomorrow, Sunday, 25th of September, at the start of the new academic year.

Major General Al-Kandari called on all parents to cooperate with the traffic police and patrols deployed on the main roads, the interior areas, and the vicinity of schools and universities. He also urged people who are dropping children to school to leave home early in the morning and use GPS to find alternative routes in order to avoid being stuck in traffic jams.

Vehicle users should also pay paying attention when students get off and cross the roads near the schools, he urged.
