Indian Embassy created history with full day celebration of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'

In a historic event, Indian Embassy in Kuwait celebrated 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', 75th anniversary of India’s independence, in a unique way with 75 art forms, with participation of over one thousand artists spread over more than 750 minutes titled 'Namaste Kuwait'.

The event started at 8:00 am and continued till night with non-stop cultural performances by Indian community from various parts of India. Earlier, in the morning, Minister of State for External Affairs Shri V. Muraleedharan virtually inaugurated the event. Delivering the inaugural remarks, Hon’ble Minister extended warm greetings to all Indians in Kuwait and congratulated all Indian artists in Kuwait who worked tirelessly for several weeks to make ‘Namaste Kuwait’- a mega cultural event, a reality.

'Namaste Kuwait', is also a celebration of the vibrant and dynamic partnership between our two friendly countries, India and Kuwait, Ambassador Shri Sibi George said in his welcome speech. "Our India that is Bharat is one of the oldest, largest and perhaps among the very few continuous major civilizations in the world. Our spirituality and our rich and varied cultural diversity are attracting the entire world today," Ambassador said. He also praised the amazing talent that the Indian community in Kuwait including children have. Ambassador thanked all the Indian Community Associations, reputed dance schools and all the many Indian artists and children who have joined hands in this effort to showcase Indian culture and heritage in Kuwait.

The full day event was live telecasted on Embassy social media pages. Ambassadors and Diplomats of various countries visited the full day event held at the Embassy auditorium. Various Indian Association and Dance schools from Kuwait performed various cultural art forms of different regions across India during the event.

Ambassador particularly thanked Habibullah Muttichoor, Sindhu Madhuraj, Vinitha Pratish, Ashraf Choorot and Yoonas Abdul Razak for their wholehearted efforts in organizing the event.
