The 5th of September marks a truly auspicious occasion, and its festivities were in full swing at Carmel School, Kuwait this year. The celebration was organized as a two-day event: ‘CARMELYMPICS’ – an electrifying Sports Day on the 5th of September, and ‘A MUSICAL JOURNEY’- an enthralling Cultural Fiesta on the 10th of September, both specially dedicated to the teachers and organized by Sr. Saritha, the Vice-Principal and the Cabinet of 2022-23. Two fun-filled days they were indeed while both teachers and students alike enjoyed the time spent away from the busy schedule of the school.

‘CARMELYMPICS’ took place at the basketball court. It began with a prayer led by Sr. Gracy and a prayer song. Sr. Christy Maria, the Principal addressed the distinguished gathering and officially inaugurated the event. 9 teams of teachers in their allotted colours competed enthusiastically as they strove hard to bag the winning positions. From the classic games with unique twists to the state of the art and the most creative ones, not to mention the most exciting ‘Teachers Vs Students’ Throwball match and Volleyball match, it was indeed a sight to behold when the teachers and students left no stone unturned to enjoy the exhilarating event to the core.

The 10th of September witnessed, an incredible ‘MUSICAL JOURNEY’ - a movie premiere themed cultural event staged in the auditorium by the Cabinet of 2022-23 and the students of Grade 11 which also featured participants from grades 3, 4, 5 and 8. With enchanting dances, soothing band performances and engaging mini-games and spot prizes, it was fun at its finest. The students paid their grateful tribute to their mentors, guides and philosophers in an appealing manner and showcased their love and gratitude to them. The prize distribution held during the latter half of the event lauded the winners of CARMELYMPICS and that of the mini games respectively.

The Management of Carmel awarded certificates of appreciation to the teachers of Grades X and XII who enabled the students to achieve centum marks in various subjects in the respective Board Examinations (2021-22). The festivities of Teachers’ Day 2022 thus came to a crescendo with a lot of stunning memories to be cherished in the years to come.
