Registering absconding case online for those who did not complete residency procedures

Monday, September 19, 2022

Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) launched new system on "Ashal" portal for registering absconding reports for new expatriate workers who entered the country with work permits and did not complete the residency procedures.

The move is aimed to apprehend violators, in addition to study the cases against whom the absconding cases are submitted by summoning them and find out the reasons and solve problems.

According to report, about 1,000 absconding reports are being studied by the Inspection Department, as the law gives the worker the right to object within two months from the date of registering the complaint against him by the worker.

Once the deadline of two months expires and the worker is not reviewed, the file will be transferred to the Residency Affairs Investigation Department to take the necessary legal measures, followed by transfer to Ministry of Interior, which will take action against the worker including deportation from the country.
