Kuwait's electricity index recorded highest load

Tuesday, August 9, 2022

Kuwait's electricity index recorded the highest load in the history, On Sunday, August 7th amounting to 15,900 megawatts.

According to reports, this figure is the highest for this year in light of the rising temperatures. This rise was expected, as the ministry expects consumption to exceed 16,500 megawatts during the peak season, which usually ends at the end of September each year.

All power generation units are operating with the required efficiency, and any unit that exits for technical reasons is restored as soon as possible to service after the necessary maintenance is performed on it.

The ministry has a reserve between 1,500 and 2,000 megawatts, according to the type of fuel and the temperatures that control a certain aspect of power generation operations.

The sources stressed the need to work on energy rationalization in a professional manner that allows for a reduction in the consumption, raises the energy efficiency to higher levels, and relieves pressure on the power generation plants that operate over 24 hours and are vulnerable to any defect like the stations around the world.
