Expats to be replaced with Kuwaitis at cooperatives

The government will speed up initiatives to allocate top jobs, assistant supervisor jobs as well as managerial positions at the supermarkets and cooperatives to Kuwaitis, local daily reported.

According to report, Cooperatives have provided the Ministry of Social Affairs with a list of job vacancies that are currently occupied by foreigners. The report added that around 480 expats will be replaced with Kuwaitis at the cooperatives.

Meanwhile, the Civil Service Commission has listed 2,275 Kuwaitis for job placements in the private sector. The Ministry of Social Affairs has agreed - along with the Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies to have a complete review of jobs in local cooperatives so as to meet up with the deadline in line with the Kuwaitization policy. This means that many non-Kuwaitis will be replaced.
