The Kuwait Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI, Kuwait Chapter) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the year 2022 – 2023.

CA Rabin Gonsalves (Secretary) gave the welcome address. CA Rohit Agarwal (Treasurer) apprised members of the Receipts and Payments during year. The outgoing Chairman – CA Deepak Bindal – briefed members on the achievements during the year including the large number of CPE Events organised including those conducted by eminent speakers & professors based outside Kuwait. The incoming Chairman – CA Sriram Gopalakrishnan – shared his plans for the Chapter’s future with members and introduced the Chapter’s new Executive Committee which consists of (a) CA Rabindranath Gonsalves – Vice Chairman (b) CA Aditya Vikram Dhanuka – Secretary (c) CA Rohit Agarwal – Treasurer (d) CA – Trisha Dalmia – Head Social Activities (e) CA Shailesh Laddhad – Head – Website & Membership (f) CA Umesh Soni – Head Exams, Students & Sports (g) CA Gyanesh Tibrewal – Head CPE and International Communications (h) CA Tuhin Chaturvedi – Head Sponsorship & Public Relations and (i) CA Anup Dhand – Head Publications.

CA Sriram Gopalakrishnan’s introduction was followed by a presentation by Dr. Navjot Kaur, Behavioural Counsellor and Psychotherapist on Enhancing One’s Happiness & Wellbeing. Dr. Kaur stressed many important concepts including Mindfulness, Meditation and JOMO (the Joy of Missing Out). Her presentation was followed by a presentation by Dr. Thomas Koshy George, Cardiologist, Chest Hospital on Preventing and Identifying Heart Disease. Dr. George emphasised the importance of regular medical checks, maintaining a healthy weight, being mindful of one’s diet, being aware of one’s cholesterol & blood glucose levels and regular exercise. He also described the various types of diagnostic techniques available and discussed their advantages and disadvantages.

These presentations were followed by a Question & Answer session with the Doctors. The Kuwait Chapter is very grateful to both the learned guests who gave so generously of their time and knowledge to the immense benefit of the attendees.

The Chapter is a professional association of Indian Chartered Accountants with a strength of more than 500 members and its objective is to provide its members with professional and social networking opportunities.
