MCYM-KMRM Abbassiya Area jointly organized Joseph Christo Memorial Blood Donation Camp associating with BDK Kuwait Chapter

The Kuwait Malankara Rite Movement (KMRM) Abbassiya Area, Malankara Catholic Youth Movement (MCYM), in association with Blood Donors Kerala Kuwait Chapter, organized a blood donation drive to commemorate Joseph Christo, an active member of the Kuwait Malankara Church who died during the Covid pandemic. In the camp held at Adan Cooperative Blood Transfusion centre, on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 1 to 6 p.m, an overwhelming response from the various walks of life of the Indian diaspora in Kuwait was witnessed and the donor tally was around 105.

There was a formal inaugural session, chaired by Binu Abrahm, President of KMRM Abbassiya Area. Joseph Daniel, KMRM President has formally inaugurated the Blood Donation Drive. He recalled that Joseph Christo was a brotherly equal to all church members and that his untimely separation was an irreparable loss to the church. In his chairperson’s address, Binu Abraham reiterated the significance of voluntary blood donation as it saves millions of lives and improves the health and quality of life of many patients every day.Mathew Koshy (KMRM General Secretary), Nobin Philip (MCYM President), Shalu Mani (KMRM Abbassiya Area Secretary), James KS (MCYM Secretary), Jayan Sadasivan BDK have felicitated the blood donors. In a meeting greeted by Fino Mathew (MCYM Treasurer), Thomas Adoor (KMRM Ahmadi Area President) made a commemorative speech about the late Joseph Christo. Blood Donors Kerala Kuwait Chapter has handed mementos to representatives from the KMRM Abbassiya Area and MCYM for demonstrating a high level of social responsibility in promoting the noble act of voluntary blood donation and for a successful camp. International Nurses Day was celebrated on the occasion involving the Kuwait Central Blood Bank staff as a tribute to all the covid frontline warriors.

All the blood donors who attended the camp received certificates. The BEC Exchange and Badr Al Samaa Medical Center; the business partners of BDK Kuwait Chapter, sponsored the blood donation campaign. Nimish Kavalam BDK gave the visitors and blood donors a vote of appreciation.

BDK volunteers Sreekumar, Kalesh, Nalinakshan, Biji Murali, Jithin Jose, Jayan Sadasivan, Jolly, Beena, Prasanth, Deepu Chandran along with MCYM-KMRM Abbassiya Area volunteers Binsu Rijo, Rijo V George, Reji Achenkunju, Anil George Rajan, Rinil Raju, Libin Philip have offered voluntary service for the successful execution of the camp.
