Mangoes add sweetness to India's trade engagement with Kuwait; Ambassador hosted Mango Fest.

"Indian Mangoes always had a more value and more sweetness to our export basket and trade engagement with Kuwait," Ambassador Shri Sibi George said. He was talking to the media during a Mango tasting event organised by the Embassy of India in Kuwait and the Indian Business Network (IBN).

Ambassador recalled the various Buyer Seller Meets and festivals held for the promotion of Indian Mangoes as part of our 3Ts campaign focusing on Trade, Technology and Tourism.

Ambassador expressed his happiness on far exceeding the target of ensuring that every Kuwaiti family and Indian and foreigner in Kuwait enjoy mango during the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Kuwait and the 75th anniversary of India's independence which was set last year. "The statistics of Mango export to Kuwait suggested we have far exceeded the target," Ambassador said.

Ambassador also thanked the Agricultural Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), for their support to the Embassy in promoting Indian mangoes in Kuwait.

I am happy that in Kuwait also, we witnessed an increase in the bilateral trade. Our supply chain with Kuwait remains uninterrupted even in the Covid time, he said.

Various varieties of Mangos, such as Alphonso, Kesar and Banganapalli Mangoes, were showcased at the Embassy during the event. Ambassador also urged all Indians to spread awareness about Indian Mabngoes to their Kuwaiti friends.

India is the largest producer of mangoes, producing more than half of the world's mangoes. India has the largest number of varieties of mangoes anywhere in the world.

The event witnessed an enthusiastic response with people from different walks of life in Kuwait participating virtually as well as physically.
