“Labor is the only prayer that Nature answers: It is the only prayer that deserves an answer—good, honest, noble work.” by Robert Green Ingersoll

May Day, May 1st also called ‘Labour Day’ or International Workers day, is a day commemorating the historic struggles and gains made by workers and labour movement ,observed in many countries on May 1st, celebrated in over 80 countries in the world.

This Special assembly on the theme "Labour Day " was performed by all the students from classes VIII-A and IX-A. It started with Quran recitation by Magda and then followed by the school prayer done by Farah. The prayer was soothing. Then there was “Thought of the day” read by Nandini and the explanation given by Salem.

The students of class VIII-A performed a skit named ‘Dignity of labour’. It was amazing and showed that all types of job are respected equally, no occupation is considered superior and none of the jobs should be discriminated on any basis.

It gave a better understanding of the labour community among the students and the need of respecting and appreciating their efforts. Then there was a speech by Bhama. She wonderfully explained the need of respecting every job by quoting an incident that happened in American president Mr. Abraham Lincoln’s life.

The principal, Mrs. Anita Sadanand, addressed the gathering and motivated the students with her encouraging words of wisdom. The assembly then ended with the Indian National Anthem. The assembly was informative, and we got to know more things about Labour Day.
