IMA Weekend Islamic School Celebrates Its First Anniversary

Indian Muslim Association Kuwait Weekend Islamic School (IMAWIS) celebrated its first anniversary on 4th May 2022. Mr. Shamvil Parvez, the IMA president presided the function. The students of weekend classes and their parents attended the event. Variety of activities such as Quiz competition, Hymns and Nasheed were presented. Speeches on different topics were delivered by the students.

The event started by recitation of the Glorious Quran by Master Shaikh Abdul Tawwab and Hamza Nisar Ahmad. While addressing the audience IMAWIS Principal, Mr. Nisar Ahmad, mentioned that the purpose of learning Deen is to develop the character and get nearness to Allah, the exalted. Therefore, IMAWIS makes all possible efforts to inculcate good manners amongst the children, which can only be effectively imbibed with the cooperation of the parents. He requested the parents to become partner in in this cause by paying required attention to their children’s learning.

A poem titled “Gratitude to the Lord” was sung by a group of little girls. An Arabic Nasheed was sung by Master Ashaj Ahmad Khan followed by poem & Rida Bandarkar. A speech on Oneness of God delivered by 2nd class student, Huda Tayyab Bawazir followed by another speech by Master Mudassir Ahmad on the topic Importance of Prayer. Another speech was delivered by Master Khazi Mohammad Saad on the topic “Seeking the Importance of Knowledge of Deen”.

Quiz was held for both the children and parents separately and winners were given prizes. Prizes were given to the winners of the elocution and hifdh competitions that were held during 2021.

IMA president, Mr. Shamvil Parvez delivered presidential address. He stressed parents on carving their children into a true, honest and modest Muslim, a human being and a citizen. The program was concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr. Jafar Sadiq, IMA Joint Secretary.

The principal announced that the admissions are open for the academic year 2022-2023. Interested parents are invited to enroll their children by registering at www.imakuwait.org/school. IMA Kuwait is a renowned socio-religious Association, known for its welfare activities among the Indian community in Kuwait. IMA Weekend Islamic School (IMA-WIS) is its recent initiative, introduced to provide quality Islamic education for boys and girls of the age group between 5 and 14. It offers online classes every Saturday from 9 am to 12 pm. Many students from different nationalities in Kuwait, had enrolled for the weekend classes.
