SIMS - Anti-Bullying Special Assembly

Bullying in schools has negative effects on individual students and on the school atmosphere as a whole. Bullying can cause long-term problems for both the victims of bullying and the bullies themselves. Although a common problem in institutions, it is mostly ignored – unless the matter is serious. Recognizing the importance of such a sensitive topic and the need to address it on a large scale, the students of class 6,7 and 8 of Salmiya Indian Model School conducted a special assembly on 28 April, 2022 under the supervision of the English Department. The three grades worked together as a team and presented a melange of thoughts ,ideas and expressions.

The assembly commenced with verses from the Holy Quran followed by the Kuwait National Anthem after which the Principal Dr. Anis Ahmad led the students in the morning prayer. The school song and thought of the day, followed.

With the motive of educating and entertaining the children at the same time, a short skit was presented on the sensitive topic of ‘Anti Bullying’ which emphasized on the hazards of bullying in educational institutions. The outcome of the presentation was contagious which left the audience in awe. The performance was every bit exquisite and therefore bagged applauds and appreciations of all.

A speech on the downsides of bullying and approaches to overcome its escalation in educational institutions followed by a video exhibiting the same educated the students on the ways to handle bullying and the lasting effects of bullying on young minds

It was further emphasized in the address by the Vice-Principal, Mrs. Sajitha Menon who also appreciated the performances of the participants and the efforts put in by the teachers.The assembly culminated with the rendition of the Indian National Anthem.
