Indian embassy marks Ambedkar birth anniversary

Embassy of India, Kuwait, organized an event to celebrate the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution of Republic of India on Thursday, 14th April.

Delivering the inaugural remarks, Ambassador of India to Kuwait, His Excellency Shri Sibi George spoke about the pivotal role played by Babasaheb Ambedkar as the Chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Constitution in enactment of a unique Constitution which laid the framework for peaceful governance, development and progress of India, which is the largest democracy in the world. Pledging to rededicate to the cause of the nation, Ambassador read out the Preamble of the Constitution.

On the occasion, floral tributes were paid to the statue of the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar by Ambassador, officers and family members of the Embassy and members of the Indian Community in Kuwait.

Ambassador also inaugurated an exhibition displaying the journey of Babasaheb Ambedkar in the making of the Constitution.

A reading session by the readers of the Embassy’s Indian Readers Network (IRN) was also held where the members of the Network read some of the excerpts from the prominent books authored by Babasaheb Ambedkar.

The event witnessed enthusiastic response with people from different walks life in Kuwait participating virtually as well as physically.
