Fasting is good for our bodies, minds and our souls! It helps us spiritually in this life and is a special investment in the next life:
It increases our Taqwa.

As mentioned in Noble Quran
’O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those who came before you, so that you may attain Taqwa (piety)’.
[The Noble Qur’an, 2:183]

Fasting is important during Ramadan as it allows Muslim to devote themselves to their soul, rather than only focusing on your physical body.
It’s also one of the Five Pillars of Islam which are the foundation of how Muslims live their lives.

The Prophet (saw) said, ‘Indeed, there is a gate of Paradise called Ar-Rayyan, through which only those who fasted will enter on the day of Resurrection.

Muslims fast as an act of worship, a chance to get closer to God, and a way to become more compassionate to those in need.
