AMUOBA Kuwait Chapter Conducted Grand Events: S S Day & Election for Term 2022-23

Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association celebrated its founder’s Day- Sir Syed Day on 17th December 2021 in Best Western hotel Salmiya, although we celebrated every year but this time due to pandemic restrictions we celebrated it after a gap of two years.

The program was attended by around 250 people it was a great event for the Alumni living here in Kuwait.
Just after a week’s gap AMUOBA conducted election for the new EC Team and it was held in Ahmadi Gate Restaurant on Friday 24th of December 2021. Keeping the COVID Protocol Hand Sanitizers of Dabur International. Ltd. were distributed by AMUOBA Kuwait Chapter to abide by the COVID protocol & as a good gesture.

AMUOBA Kuwait chapter believes in a democratic setup, keeping it in view the core committee is formed on the basis of the alumni’s choice. The alumni of the association elected their Executive Council Members for the year 2022-23.

The Executive Council consists of 14 members of which 6 are the chair position holder and 8 EC members; elections were held for all the positions. Mr. Aslam Parvez is elected for as President of the association followed by Dr. Iram Chaudhary Vice President.

Alumni elected Mr. Syed Shadab Ashraf- General Secretary and Mr. Asif Equbal -Joint Secretary, Mr. Ahtesham Ullah Khan-OSD and Mrs. Shazia Mansoor- Dy. OSD.
There were 8 EC members elected by the Alig fraternity namely: Mr. Adil Sareer, Mr. Ahmad Imroz Khan, Mr. Kashif Husain, Mr. Masroor Alam, Mr. Syed Nadeem Iftikhar, Mr. Shahid Kalam, Mr. Syed Ameer Abbas, Mr. Taqui Hasan.
A large number of Alig fraternity joined hand and turned up in large number at the Election Venue with their families to cast the vote and chose the members of their association. This whole process of election was more of a get-to-gather as Sahara Gate restaurant served tea, snacks and dinner at reasonable rates to all the guests.
As The Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioner were appointed from outside the AMU alumni to keep the process fair and transparent. the election was held in a very democratic manner. Alumni participated with great enthusiasm, there were multiple nominations for every position.

The success story of any event is not complete without the contribution of those who are involved in it. Some of them are in the forefront, others prefer to be at the backstage but they are the backbone for the success of any event be it Sir Syed Day or Elections.

It was the tremendous team effort of Mr. Jamil Akhtar (Chief-Election Commissioner), Mr. Shoeb Khan-(Election Commissioner) , Mr. Saifuddin, Mr. Abdul Quddus, Mr. Abdul Hakeem, Mr. Arsalan Farooq, Mr Ashraf Anwar and Mr. Adnan Farooq for coming and helping us in electing new office bearers. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for conducting fair elections efficiently.

The responsibility of organizing election was on the shoulders of Executive Council Members namely - Mr. Nauroz Ahmed (Vice President), Mr. Tariq Waseem (Gen Secretary) and Mr. Mateen Ur Rahman (Election Convener). It was their untiring effort that AMUOBA Kuwait could conduct election effectively in a very conducive environment.

Likewise, in the celebration of the grand events of Sir Syed Day Mr. Mobin Khan - Regional Business Head (Middle east) - Dabur International. Ltd extended his full support by distributing gift hampers consisting of Hand Sanitizers & Beauty products to the audience present there generously. The audience were delighted with this gesture of Dabur International. Ltd. UAE. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our sponsors and members of association who contributed in any way for making these events a success story.

As now the tenure of AMUOBA-3 is over The President of the outgoing Body Mr. Tariq Ahmed Sibtey and his entire team extends good wishes to the newly elected members of the association.
