Health situation is stable: Cabinet held extraordinary meeting

The Kuwait Cabinet held an extraordinary meeting Sunday afternoon at Bayan Palace, headed by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al Khaled.

The Minister of Health briefed the cabinet on the developments in the global epidemiological situation, especially after the emergence of a new mutated variant of the Corona virus (Omicron) in some African countries.

The Council also took note of the importance of taking preventive and precautionary measures for those coming to the State of Kuwait from some countries, in order to maintain positive indicators in this regard.

While the Council of Ministers expressed its satisfaction with the continued stability of the health situation in the country, it calls on all citizens and residents not to be lenient in applying the precautionary measures, especially wearing masks.

On Saturday, Kuwait suspended direct commercial flights from nine African countries namely, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Lesotho, Eswatini, Zambia and Malawi.
