Wednesday, November 24, 2021

Indian Ambassador Shri Sibi George discussed various aspects related to Passport, Visa and approval of Covaxin vaccine status in Kuwait during his monthly open house at the Embassy auditorium on Wednesday, Nov 24th.

While he congratulates the Kuwaiti leadership for handling the Covid 19 pandemic situation successfully in the country, he also urged all to be alert and continue to follow all Covid related precautions and guidelines.
The police verification is a mandatory step while renewing the Passport. All should be aware of the time it takes for the police verification and apply for passport renewal accordingly, Ambassador Sibi George said. This is part of the digitization policy of our government. Once the police verification is done on the system, it will be very helpful for you at a later stage for various purposes. So, when you renew your Passport, consider this delay also, he said. It is mandatory to give the correct police station details while applying for passport renewal. Make sure with your family back home in India about the correct police station name in your place, as giving a wrong police station name will make the process more delay, he said. A detailed presentation on passport renewal and application was also done during the Open house.

Ambassador also informed that India had opened the visa for foreign nationals and the Indian Embassy in Kuwait is now issuing visit visa on the same day. He urged all Indians to invite their Kuwaiti friends and colleagues to visit India.

Ambassador updated the status of Covaxin approval in Kuwait. “I wanted to brief you that this is a work in progress and that we are following up regularly with the authorities. Now that it has been recognized by WHO we are expecting a favourable decision on this,” Ambassador said. The embassy had started a new registration drive for all Indians stranded outside after taking Covaxin vaccination. Ambassador urged all those who took Covaxin to register on the link.

A large number of community members participated on the open house, in which several issues were also discussed. Members who attended the open house raised various issues like the delay in the academic certificate verification process, legal heir certificates, attestation of salary certificate, etc, which the community members are facing and the points were discussed in detail during the open house.
