MCYM-BDK jointly organized Joseph Christo Memorial Blood Donation Camp

The Malankara Catholic Youth Movement (MCYM), the youth wing of the Kuwait Malankara Rite Movement (KMRM) Kuwait, in association with Blood Donor’s Kerala Kuwait Chapter, organized a blood drive to commemorate Joseph Christo, an active member of the Kuwait Malankara Church who died during the Covid pandemic.

The camp was also organized to mark the 60th anniversary of India-Kuwait diplomatic relations and the 75th anniversary of Indian independence. The camp was held at Adan Blood Bank on Friday, November 5, from 1 to 6 p.m. More than 75 KMRM-MCYM activists donated blood.

The camp was formally inaugurated by Rev. Fr. John Thundiyath, Director-MCYM. He recalled that Joseph Christo was a brotherly equal to all church members and that his untimely separation was an irreparable loss to the church. He lauded the social work done by the Malankara Catholic Youth Movement (MCYM), the youth wing of the Kuwait Malankara Rite Movement (KMRM), even during the Covid pandemic.

MCYM President Anil George Rajan chaired the meeting. KMRM General Secretary Libu John, MCYM Animator Alfred Chandy and others delivered felicitation messages. For the successful organization of the camp by MCYM, Rev. Fr. John Thundiyath received the plaque of appreciation from BDK Advisory Board Member Rajan Thottathil.

MCYM Secretary Fino Mathew welcomed the gathering, and Thomas John BDK thanked the participants and blood donors. BDK activist Jitin Jose coordinated the event. The camp was organized under the strict regulations of the Kuwait Ministry of Health. Certificates were distributed to all those who attended the camp.

MCYM Executives Committee Members, James, Nobin Philip, Binsu Rijo, Rinky Ann Elias, Reji Achankunju, BDK activists Nalinakshan, Vinoth Kumar, Sophy Rajan, Liny Jayan, Sreekumar, Martin and Venugopal, led the camp.
