FOKE celebrated 16th Anniversary - 'Kannur Festival 2021'

The 16th anniversary celebration of the Friends of Kannur Kuwait Expats Association (FOKE) “Kannur Mahotsavam 2021” was held online on Friday, 5th November from 5pm onwards. General Secretary Lijeesh P welcomed the gathering and President Salim MN presided over the cultural function, which was inaugurated by Hon'ble Indian Ambassador Sibi George. Huzefa Abbasi, Marketing Manager, Al Mulla Exchange, received the first copy from Sunil Kumar, Convener, Releasing the Annual Souvenir "Punarnavam".

During the cultural event, health workers were honoured, who had contributed to FOKE's charitable activities during Covid-19 pandemic and blood donation camps along with FOKE Malayalam Mission teachers for their contribution in teaching malayalam language skills. During the event, the Meritorious Award was handed over to deserving children of class 10 & 12. Both Shajith Gangadaran and Sajil PK were appreciated by FOKE for their whole-hearted efforts in bringing more members to FOKE as part of the membership campaign.

The children, who represented FOKE in the Vajrakanthi Global Quiz competition were also admired by FOKE. Shri. Sujesh read out the certificate of appreciation given to Padmashree Kaithapram Damodaran to Namboodiri as a recognition of 14th Golden FOKE Award Winner.

This was followed by the musical extravaganza by a team of Sa-ri-ga-ma-pa fame playback singer Kirthana SK, Flowers TV Fame actor and singer Noufal Rahman, renowned folk-singer Ranjith Chalakudy, Kairali TV Gandharvasangeetham Fame playback singer Vipin Nath. Actress cum Anchor Geethika, was anchoring the show, which added colours to the whole show.

The patriotic dance music album "Salute India" performed by FOKE Balavedi kids caught everyone's attention.

In remembrance of Raghavan Mash, the patriarch of the Malayalam music world, commemorative music was also performed.

Treasurer Mahesh Kumar, Advisory Board Members Anil Keloth, Ramesh KE, Vanithavedi Vice Chairperson Mini Manoj and Balavedi Convener Sanjay Jitesh greeted the gathering. Program Convener Sabu TV expressed gratitude.
