Diwali is a festival of lights, joy and happiness. Diwali is celebrated as the day when Lord Rama, Sita and Lakshmana reached Ayodhya after spending a period of 14 years of exile.
I would like to say that my favorite festival is Diwali among all other festivals because I can taste variety of sweets, burst crackers, and wear new dress. Diwali brings joyfulness in everyone’s life by sharing sweets and gifts with friends, relatives and poor people. Diwali resembles our problems to be destroyed, removing the darkness in our life and happiness to begin.

The festival is celebrated by Indians in all over the world where Indians are residing. Normally Diwali is celebrated after Navrattri. Diyas and lanterns signifies prosperity and a cracker resembles the destroying of problems. Diyas are kept along the verandas and in front of the houses. Rangolis are drawn colourfully. Inviting friends and relatives to home to share and enjoy the happy occasion.

Children enjoy bursting crackers with their friends and family members. I am very much interested to fire sparklers, chakras, rockets, flower pots etc., everyone should understand that mishandling of bursting crackers might cause light burn scars. Hence, it is important for taking utmost care while bursting crackers. Do not burst a lot of crackers as it pollute our environment. There are also serious incidents happened in the fire work factories due to negligence and not abiding safety measures .Nowadays, our government is encouraging the use of green crackers as their emission is 30 percent less than the conventional ones.

Friends exchange gifts such as new clothes, decorating items etc. Rather than exchanging objects, it is also important to exchange positivity and love to our dears and nears.
I wish all your dreams will be fulfilled this upcoming year. I wish all of you a prosperous and happy Diwali.
