Kuwait and India jointly announces yearlong celebration for 60th anniversary of diplomatic relation

The National Council of Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) State of Kuwait, jointly with the Embassy of India, Kuwait will organize a series of events to celebrate the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Kuwait.

The celebration will begin with a joint musical activity titled “India Day” at Sheikh Mubarak Kiosk Museum on December 2nd this year, Secretary General of NCCAL His Excellency Mr. Kamel Abdul Jalil and Indian Ambassador H E Shri Sibi George said in a joint press briefing today at the Kuwait National Library.

“We are celebrating this with a series of events to mark this historical occasion,” Secretary General of NCCAL His Excellency Mr. Kamel Abdul Jalil said.



“This anniversary year is an important milestone in the history of the vibrant and most dynamic partnership between our two friendly countries, India and Kuwait,” Indian Ambassador Shri Sibi George said.
A series of joint events are planned covering the entire spectrum of culture, art and letters. It has music activity days, cultural weeks covering Indian movies, culture performances, seminar on historic relations between two countries, seminar on wellness tourism opportunities, joint musical evenings, joint activities on antiquities and maritime trade routes, clothing exhibition, pottery exhibition, symposium on the connect between India and Kuwaiti cuisines, currency and jewelry exhibitions and so on.



In December, a 5 day long Indian cultural week will be held at Kuwait National Library from December 5th to December 9th. Various activities including seminar on the historical relationship between India and Kuwait, Indian cultural performances, screening of Indian movies and seminar on wellness tourism in India will be held during this period.

More details of various events will be announced later. “Our objective is to involve all our Kuwaiti friends and Indian community in these celebrations and make it memorable year in our relationship,” Ambassador said. The year-long celebration will conclude on July 3rd 2022.
