Kuwait Cricket announces scholarships for Cricket players

Kuwait Cricket (KC), the official governing body of Cricket in Kuwait and an associate member of ICC, announced that Kuwait Cricket will offer scholarship for all Cricket players in Kuwait registered with KC in association with MEC Study Group.

The official signing ceremony between Kuwait Cricket and MEC Study Group was held Wednesday evening at Olympic Council of Asia headquarters at Salmiya. The MoU was signed between MEC Study group CEO Mr Muizz Mirza and Kuwait Cricket President Mr Hyder Farman.



The partnership will help all cricket players in Kuwait registered with Kuwait Cricket, Mr Sajid Ashraf, Director General of Kuwait Cricket, said. Kuwait is now ranked 27 in ICC T20 ranking globally out of 104 countries, and in the Women’s team, Kuwait is ranked 26 out of 104 members, Mr Sajid said. He said that Kuwait is the only country from GCC qualified for Asia cup for the junior team. Kuwait Cricket will soon launch its dedicated Mobile App to live stream all matches happening in Kuwait, Mr Sajad added.

Kuwait Cricket President, in his speech, congratulated all cricket players. Appreciating MEC Study group for the scholarship, Farman said that Kuwait Cricket will not spare any efforts, which will benefit the players in their game and in their career.



Commenting on the scholarship, MEC Study Group CEO Mr Muizz Mirza said that the partnership with KC will benefit the players with upto 25% scholarship on college tuition fees for higher studies. MEC study group has partnered with more than 700 universities across the world. Depending on the college, Kuwait Cricket members will get upto 25% scholarship of their tuition fee. If you are part of the Kuwait Cricket registered team, you and your family members can avail of this scholarship, Mr Mirza said. In the case of Kuwaiti nationals and those who score 80% and above in the qualifying exam, he will get a chance to get upto 80% of the tuition fee as a scholarship if he is a registered member of Kuwait Cricket, he said.

Largen number of Indian students playing Cricket for the local cricket teams in Kuwait can benefit from this scholarship if their teams are registered with Kuwait Cricket.



Along with Kuwait Cricket President Haider Farman and CEO of MEC Study Group Mr Muizz Mirza, KC Vice President Faisal Al Marzouk, Board member Awatif Al Qallaf, Director General Sajid Ashraf, Kuwaiti Team Manager Mr Mahmoud Abdulla and Hafiz Muhammed attended the event. The event was also attended by Media personals and the Kuwait Cricket Junior team members.
