Onam celebrated by Bhavan's Kuwait Malayalam Toastmasters Club and Bhavan's Toastmasters Club

Bhavan's Kuwait Malayalam Toastmasters Club and Bhavan's Toastmasters Club jointly celebrated Onam, Kerala's State festival on the Zoom platform on August 27, 2021, from 5 pm to 8 pm. It was a colorful, exciting, and marvelous meeting that lighted up the hearts of the audience from all over the world.

Toastmaster Rosmin Soyous offered a warm welcome to everyone and explained the ground rules for the meeting. In her presidential address, Toastmaster Sheeba Premugh highlighted the spirit of Keralites for coming together and celebrating Onam in splendor. She began her speech by reciting a couple of lines from a poem by famous Malayalam poet Mr. Kadammanitta Ramakrishnan. Toastmaster Bijo P. Babu introduced the Chief Guest, His Excellency Sibi George, the Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, and briefed the selfless services rendered by the Ambassador to the Indian Community in Kuwait. He stated the efforts of His Excellency for his ongoing endeavor for uplifting the weaker sections of the society.

His Excellency Sibi George inaugurated the celebrations. He cherished his beautiful memories in Toastmasters and revisited the Icebreaker speech he delivered twenty years ago in Doha Toastmaster Club. His speech was fabulous with spices of humor. He shared his love towards his motherland, mother tongue, and Onam. He also admired the positivity of Toastmasters. His Excellency appreciated many associations in Kuwait, such as Bhavan's Toastmaster Club and Bhavan's Kuwait Malayalam Toastmaster Club, for their outstanding work to develop society.

In his keynote speech, Toastmaster Bobby Abraham, the World Malayalam Toastmasters International speech contest winner, reminisced his joyous Onam celebrations at various stages of his life. He reiterated the message of Onam – Equality, fairness, truthfulness, and happiness. He urged everyone to live in unity, love, peace, and harmony. Toastmaster Bobby encouraged everyone to utilize the opportunities provided by Toastmasters to bloom their hidden talents.
The principal of Fahaheel Al Watanieh Indian Private School, Mr. Ravi Ayyanoli, graced the meeting with his esteemed presence. Division E Director Toastmaster Vishal Edward Khan, Area 19 Director Toastmaster Dinesh Kumar Pal, and Bhavan's Toastmasters Club President Toastmaster Kondal Reddy delivered the felicitation speeches.

The icing on the cake was the kaleidoscopic cultural programs by Bhavan's members and their families. The audience enjoyed the excellent Traditional Onam dance form "Thiruvathira," Keyboard play, Onam songs, folk dance, cinematic dance, Anthakshari, recitation, and a skit. Toastmasters Prathibha Shibu, Sheeba Premugh, Susan Abraham, Bhavitha Bright, Rosmin Soyous, Bijo P. Babu, Jiju Ramankulath, Prashanth Kavalangadu, Lucy Cherian, Satish Kumar, Abraham John, Premugh Bose, Mahesh Iyer, Mr. Shibu, Mrs. Seema Jiju, Mrs. Lijiya Prashanth, Ms. Breeza Bright, Ms. Chaithanya Lakshmi, Ms. Anjana Santhosh, Ms. Deena Elsa George, Mrs. Betty Bijo, Ms. Aleena Bijo, Ms. Mallika Lakshmi, Master Darshan Jiju and Master Sarang Sunil were the participants in the programs.

Toastmaster Ajoy Jacob George, the event chair, conveyed thanks and presented the appreciation certificates to the role players and participants.

Vibrant toastmasters Prathibha Shibu and Susan Abraham were the Masters of ceremonies.

The member and families of Bhavan's and the rest of the audience will cherish these spectacular celebrations for many more years.
