Telugu Kala Samithi, Kuwait, representing Telugu diaspora in Kuwait, engaged in social, charitable and cultural activities for more than 32 years, elected new office bearers for the year 2021-2022 from 1st July 2021.

As a part of their first activity, the Executive Committee organized a summer camp for kids and women in coordination with Ladies Wing members, the first of its kind in 32 years of Telugu Kala Samithi history, online on ZOOM platform over a period of one month from 11th July to 12 August. The summer camp included various activities like Yoga, Zumba, Dance-Baby-Dance, Cookery, Glass Painting, Calligraphy, Origami, Quiz, Photography techniques, Health and Hygiene, Memory games. It also included sessions on Mythological Stories, Orientation on Vedic Culture and its importance, Indian Heritage & Culture.

The Executive Committee organized a closing ceremony of the summer camp in accordance with 75th anniversary of Indian independence, on Friday, 13th August, on ZOOM platform, with enthusiastic patriotic themed performances by summer camp participants.

Mrs. Lalitha who is the program coordinator of Telugu Kala Samithi, Kuwait, welcomed all the participants to the celebration, which started with the national anthems of Kuwait and India. Mr. Sai Venkata Subbarao Devata – President, introduced various sub- committees to all members and invited H.E. Sibi George, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, who congratulated the efforts of Telugu Kala Samithi, for carrying out such innovative programs during pandemic situations and contribution to the society during 60 years of Kuwait-India bilateral relationships. H.E. Sibi George also congratulated all the members on the 75th anniversary of Indian independence.

Telugu Kala Samithi also had the privilege to host Shri. V.V. (JD) Lakshmi Narayana, IPS – Ex CBI Joint Director, who guided the members with his motivational insights on today’s generation of kids and challenges faced in parent-child relationship. He then went onto answer the questions posted by children on various aspects such as career goals, detoxifying from social media, having clear vision and goals.

The event then went on with performances by children who had taken immense efforts in showing the values and culture of India through their beautiful performances. Telugu Kala Samithi along with Mindtree International felicitated the students who secured 95% and above in 10th and 12th standards with a memento. Participants of the summer camp were handed over gifts and certificates by the Executive Committee members.

The celebration concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. Sreevatsa – General Secretary, conveying sincere appreciation to guests and members for participating and the sponsors for their support in making the event successful.
