‘’ Time and Tide waits for none.’’ Everyone knows this proverb. However, many people have not given enough thought to it. Tide never waits for anyone, in the same way time too doesn’t wait for anyone. These two that is both time and tide keep moving and never wait or stop for anyone. Lost time can’t be gained back. Therefore, you have to value every single second. ‘Time is precious.’ Haven’t you heard this? We cannot stop time. Time is so precious. We have to know the importance of time. We should use time wisely and properly. Some people who are idle keep on postponing their responsibilities. People, who do not perform their duties on time, are destroying their own future. Opportunities knock on everyone’s door but if we don’t know how to use time, then we will miss these opportunities.

We cannot store time but can spend it. It always moves forward just as the flow of a river. The one who loses time and cannot achieve anything in life is called a loser. Time is actually a great gift from God so that we can achieve something big and good in our lives. Time is also like a powerful ruler who rules over each and every thing in this world.

Now, let me share an incident with you. It was a sunny morning when I came to know about a craft competition. I had to prepare something beautiful using paper. I thought that I would do it later as there were three more days left. The following day, I didn’t even think of it. On the second day, I just thought about it and didn’t give it any try. Very soon, it was the third day- the last day for submitting the origami. I forgot that it was the last day of submission. The following day, while having my breakfast, I suddenly remembered about the competition. I was desperate. I didn’t have a clue. That’s when I realized I had missed a great opportunity to win a cash award of one lakh rupees because of my sheer carelessness. It was a big lesson for me. From that day onwards, I have never wasted time. We should utilize time and shouldn’t waste it.
