Monday, August 16, 2021

The Smart Indian School celebrated diamond jubilee of the independent India with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on virtual podium. While we all are adjusting to live in the new normal due to the Covid pandemic, it hasn’t dampened our spirit of honouring the great freedom fighters and love for our mother country India. We always let our patriotic spirits soar high. This wonderful day is a reminder of the sacrifices our freedom fighters made for the country. We haven’t seen the heroes who brought us freedom but we are seeing the present heroes who are protecting that freedom with their sweat and blood.

To celebrate this fortunate day, it was ennobled by the Chief Guest - Mr. Georgekutty, grandfather of our students Saira Josephine Aby and Nathaniel Aby from grade 3 and UKG respectively, the Chairman - Mr. N. K. Ramachandran Menon, the Principal - Mr. Mahesh Iyer, the Vice Principal - Ms. Albin Daisy, the KG Supervisor - Ms. Rajni Menon, parents, teachers and students. The virtual celebration was started by our amenable emcees, Deputy cultural secretary Girl - Janet George and Junior Head Boy- Hannuk Joseph Eapen.

The live telecast from the school revived the essence of true celebration, like the guard of honour and march past by BSS (Bhavans Service Scheme) cadets together with representatives from the student council and the hoisting of the flag by our Chief Guest. All were warmly welcomed by our Deputy cultural secretary Boy - Swastik Saha. Those highlights of the day were remarkable in which all the proceedings of the celebration took place, such as India’s Prime Ministerial address which was read by Principal to connect with the union of the nation and to enhance this feeling, he also sang a spirited patriotic song. The teachers and children contributed their dynamic performances, that were very emotional and moving. We all are so different, but there is one thing that unites us and it’s the independence. The celebration ended with the vote of thanks by Junior Head Girl - Jasriya Abdulla Aboobacker.

Today living in our second homeland, we celebrated together the land of the uniqueness and the home of the brave-hearts.

Let us be always blessed with the freedom of mind, thoughts, and spirit.

Long live our nation. Happy Panchsaptati Diwas India!
