Spiritual India

India being the land with rich culture, traditions and history it is filled with stories of an eminent past. India was once a land where thousands of people would come from outside to do research and study about many subjects in great detail. It was a land that have gave the world martial arts like kalaripayattu and different systems of medicine like Ayurveda, unnai medicine and siddha medicine at a time when the rest of the world was just beginning to set up their civilisations. It was a land that was blessed with great scholars and sages who opened new avenues of study to the world. They integrated music with mathematics, they taught the world how to count, they calculated the distance of earth from sun and formulated complicated mathematics, they introduced surgeries and medicine to the world, they created art forms like dance, music, poetry, paintings and many more, they gave the world its incredible Vedas, Puranas , Upanishads and many more.

But the real reason and purpose of all these creation was just one and the same, to realise one’s true self. All these systems were set up based on a simple principle “all beings are different and hence different paths can be chosen to ultimately reach the same reality”. It was spirituality that was expressed through different forms so that one can reach the truth in all possible ways whichever path one chooses to walk on. When it gave the world music, dance, martial arts, poetry, mathematics and science it also showed how one could attain to the ultimate reality through these. India was and remain to be the spiritual capital of the world. Its spirituality keeps inspiring many people who later become successful. From being the place from where many sages and sadhus gained enlightenment to the place from where big business giants like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg gaining inspiration from India to start their billion-dollar business India keep providing humans what they need. India’s contributions to the ultimate science that is yoga is also a path that leads to the same goal of enlightenment. It taught the world how body and mind can be used as tools and prevent it from being obstacles in the path of spirituality. It was spirituality and the connection to the divine that helped many great souls do what they did in this world. From Ramanujan who poured out complex mathematics without any formal education in it to Kalidasa who wrote the greatest literary works.

These where not mere coincidence but the way spirituality was carefully woven into the daily lives of people. India have also been the birthplace of many religions with different ideologies. this itself is enough to understand the way India gave way for different ideas to exist.

No other country in the world have such a profound history where people where accepted no matter what they believed in. As the youth of this great land we should be aware of this face of our country and try to inculcate spiritual knowledge in our lives. By coming in contact with India’s truth we will be able to form a nation which will tomorrow be at the pinnacle of the world in everything and once again in the true sense be a ‘vishwa guru’, world teacher.
