IDF and Indian Embassy launched Health Guide on Covid 19

Indian Embassy in Kuwait organized an event in coordination with the Indian Doctors Forum (IDF) and Kuwait Medical Association (KMA) to launch the IDF Health Guide 2021 Vol 17, titled "Covid-19 Explained."

Indian Ambassador Shri Sibi George inaugurated the launch event. "I have always said that cooperation in the medical sector is a key element in our multifaceted bilateral relationship, and this is truer now than ever when we jointly fight against this deadly pandemic," Ambassador said while inaugurating the event. IDF is always at the forefront of the efforts of the Embassy in ensuring the welfare of the Indian community in Kuwait. "Launching of the Health Guide on Covid-19 is part of our continuous efforts to contribute towards the ongoing fight against COVID-19," Ambassador said. This health guide on Covid-19 is a rich repository of invaluable information on all that we need to know about COVID-19 and all the associated nuances explained lucidly by our medical experts in plain, simple language, he said.



Ambassador also briefed India's effort on containing the pandemic. India's recovery rate today is over 97%, which is higher than global averages. India's fatality rate is 1.3 % which is much below the world average, Ambassador said.



Representing the Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basel Al-Sabah, the MoH Assistant Undersecretary H E Dr. Mohammad Al-Kashti attended the function. The event was also attended by President of Kuwait Medical Association Dr. Ahmad Thuwaini Al Enizi, President of Indian Doctors Forum Dr. Amir Ahmed, KPC Board member and Former KNPC Chairman Mr Jamal Al Noori, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of KNPC Mr Abdul Aziz Al Duaij and many prominent members of the Indian community and senior doctors.

On his part, MoH undersecretary H E Dr. Mohammad Al-Kashti praised all Indian doctors and other medical professionals in Kuwait in supporting the country during this pandemic. "We all fight together against this pandemic," he said.





KMA President Dr. Ahmad Thuwaini praised the effort of Indian Ambassador Shri Sibi George in serving the community and also praised all Indian medical professionals in Kuwait for their relentless service.

Dr Amir Ahmad, President of the Indian Doctors Forum, addressed the gathering and briefed various services done by IDF during the pandemic to support the large expatriate's community in Kuwait. Indian Embassy and IDF together arranged a series of activities including free tele-counselling for the community, Covid awareness webinars, releasing of Covd awareness booklets and digital resources in various Indian languages etc.



This year the IDF Health Guide released focusing the burning topic "Covid-19". Editors of the guide Dr Saroj Grover and Dr Arijit Chattopadhyay briefed the contents of the health guide, which contains all the latest updates of Covid-19 in simple English, readable for the common audience. Covid -19 effects on different domains, including Pediatric, Heart, Diabetic, Neuro, Gynec etc are explained in simple language for the readers.
