Indian Embassy in Kuwait congratulates Indian Dentists’ Alliance in Kuwait

His Excellency Ambassador of India to Kuwait Shri. Sibi George met the office bearers of the Indian Dentists’ Alliance in Kuwait (IDAK) to congratulate them on their COVID-19 initiatives.

His Excellency was especially pleased with the Contact Tracing efforts undertaken by IDAK for COVID-19 positive Indian patients during the initial days of the pandemic. Between April and June 2020, IDAK had conducted contract tracing for more than 1360 COVID-19 positive Indians and 6350 of their close contacts. Through this effort, IDAK was able identify several hotspots of disease communication and notify the MOH on a daily basis.

This work got international recognition with its acceptance for publication in the Eastern Mediterranean Health Journal, which is the flagship journal of the World Health Organization Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean. H E Shri. Sibi George was briefed on the study findings and also provided with
a copy of the paper.

IDAK continues its relief and humanitarian aid to the various communities affected by the pandemic. Whilst endeavoring to get involved in the spirit of Ramadan, on the auspicious
day of Eid-ul-Fitr, IDAK organized the distribution of 100 Biryani packets to the labourers at the Camel and Shepherd Farms at Mutla. IDAK President, Dr Rajesh Alexander said, “Meeting these wonderful human-beings, setting up the packs and distributing them ourselves has really been a bonding experience for us”.

IDAK is committed to its social cause and continues to undertake voluntary activities to reach out to the affected communities.
