“Every change is a chance to change.”

Carmel School Kuwait bade farewell and wished Godspeed to the 2020-2021 batch of Grade XII in a splendiferous farewell ceremony, held virtually despite sophistication on Monday, 17th May, 2021 with an apposite theme, ‘On the Wings of Change’. The much awaited ceremony, a cocktail of sentiments replete with nostalgia, contentment and gratitude, was organized by the teachers and students of Grade XI.

The ceremony commenced with an invocation. The mentors of Carmel extended their prayerful best wishes to and blessings upon the outgoing batch. The school cabinet paid a soul-stirring tribute to their seniors through a stirring presentation. Sr. Christy Maria, the Principal, in her message exhorted the students of Grade XII to forge ahead, profoundly rooted in faith, self-esteem, integrity, courage and moral uprightness and with the prospect of becoming responsible men and women of value rather than that of success who are capable of transforming themselves into the embodiments of ‘Excelsior’, the motto of Carmel.

She further assured them of her prayers. In a solemn oath-taking ceremony that followed, the outgoing students promised to their alma mater that they would truly and conscientiously uphold at all times, the unique values, ideals and principles they were groomed with during their formation at Carmel.

A kaleidoscope several snapshots of yesteryears shown on screen helped them muse over their good old days and hark back to their wistful school memories. Laudable accolades were conferred on each student on account of his or her unique forte. The coveted titles of Mr. Carmel and Ms. Carmel were bestowed on Shervinchris Philip Jain and Ann Maria Sabu respectively. Gladwin J. Felix and Adeena Antony Kiriyanthan were adjudged the runners up.

The ceremony rose to a crescendo with the valedictory address and a heart-warming rendition from the outgoing batch and it came to a close with the School Anthem. The Carmel family extends its plaudits and best wishes to the outgoing students as they journey beyond on the wings of change – reminiscing yesteryears, celebrating their metamorphosis and with a firm mission to transmogrify their tomorrows despite unpropitious state of affairs. Bon Voyage!
