“The time to act is now if we want to assure our present and our future.”

Emphasising the importance of sustainable development and taking care of the environment, Kuwait Indian School celebrated World Environment Day. Kuwait Indian School organized different activities for our students through online platform based on the theme ‘Ecosystem Restoration’. For too long, humans have been exploiting and destroying the planet’s ecosystem.

As an initiative to spread awareness about protecting environment, students took part in various programmes such as speech, recitation, drawing, painting, poster, recycling things and planting enthusiastically through online class.

Poster topics included Water Conservation, Conservation of Biodiversity, Global Warming etc. Students, who were stranded in India due to the pandemic situation, joined in online classes by sharing the pictures of them planting trees.

Students prepared art items that are echo friendly by reusing old paper, used clothes, and cardboards. Videos related to the importance of celebrating Environment Day were presented to them. Each of the activities made the students aware of their duties and responsibilities to rethink their relationship with the world, with their ecosystems, biodiversity and work towards its restoration. Moreover, they agreed to follow the 3R’s in their life with single-mindedness .Today’s youth is tomorrow’s future. If students are aware of their responsibilities to protect our environment, without any doubt, we can live in this world peacefully. As the members of Kuwait Indian school family, we are very proud of our students.

KIS whole heartedly thank the students, parents and staff members for their contribution in giving awareness to this year’s topic ‘Ecosystem Restoration’.
