EAM Dr S Jaishankar met Kuwait Prime Minister HH Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah; Handed over Modi's letter to HH the Amir

Kuwait Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received India's External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar today at Sief palace.

Minister Dr S Jaishankar handed over Kuwait PM a letter from Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed to His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait. EAM thanked the leadership for Kuwait’s prompt supply of Liquid Medical Oxygen and other oxygen related supplies to India to fight the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic in India. Both sides discussed the state of bilateral relations and also the developments in the region.



"Appreciated his commitment to taking our partnership to higher levels. Our historical ties have been reinforced through our joint fight against COVID19," Minister Jaishankar tweeted after his meeting with Kuwait PM.



His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah was also present along with Prime Minister during the meeting.

The meeting was attended by Chief of the Prime Minister’s Office Abdulaziz Dakhil Al-Dakhil, Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asia Abdul-Raziq Hammoud Al-Khalifa and Kuwait's Ambassador to India Jassim Ibrahim Al-Najem.



Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Sri Sibi George was also present during the meeting.

Dr S Jaishankar arrived in Kuwait Wednesday night. He will be interacting with the Indian community on Friday 6:00 pm on a virtual platform on Embassy's social media.
