Intensive Teacher Training at Indian Central School

Educational innovation is a continuous process, with development of teacher skills and competency levels being one of the major elements. The phenomenon was pioneered by the DAS CSR Department under the Teacher Training- DAS Faculty Enrichment Program, in the first term of the academic year 2021-22.

The primary purpose of the program is to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and content knowledge of faculty at all levels. Instructors focused on creating learning environments which enable teachers to develop their effectiveness in the classroom. Several workshops were initiated to understand application of learning approaches, practices, and instructional strategies.

A lot of emphasis was made on subject-matter mastery, with increasing use of educational technology, and mentoring and coaching from veteran colleagues to newly inducted staff members.

The trainings were conducted virtually every Saturday throughout the entire term by the school administrators, with documented strategies and procedures being maintained by the training unit. Trainee feedbacks and acknowledgement were recorded after every program as part of continuous innovation, quality check, and improvement process.

CBSE led CBD programs have been made available to the ICS faculty to update the competency levels, and focus on various aspects of teaching-learning practices, innovative pedagogies, integration of life skills, integration of arts, sports and ICT in classrooms and many other relevant areas.

The faculty at Indian Central School has been provided with continuous teacher training programs which is being reflected in the learning outcomes and improvement of educational standards. Our classrooms have become highly interactive and enjoyable as learning approaches are more student oriented.
