Move to ban delivery bikes on highways?

The Traffic department is preparing to issue a decision that strictly prohibits delivery bikes to use highways, and instead allow them to use only internal roads, local daily Al-Rai reported.

This move is based on the large number of reports of accidents caused by delivery bike riders who do not adhere to the right lane on the highways, the reports said.

After monitoring the situation, the authorities are planning to issue new regulations for delivery bikes, which may also include ban on delivering from one governorate to another.
