Foreign minister Jaishankar likely to visit Kuwait this week

India's External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr S Jaishankar is likely to visit Kuwait this week.

The visit comes in the backdrop of support provided by Kuwait during the Covid pandemic in India.

This will be his first bilateral visit since he assumed office in 2019. Kuwait foreign Minister Dr Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah had visited India in March this year.

Kuwait had provided support to India though a maritime bridge between two countries for transport of medical oxygen and oxygen carrying equipment. Indian Navy ships carried number of consignments from Kuwait to India under its Operation Samudra Setu II.
