Wednesday, June 2, 2021

31st May around the world is raised to spread awareness about the risk associated with the use of tobacco. It is high time that we realize the importance of a ‘healthy lifestyle’ and educate others about its importance. Keeping in line with it the Department of Science organized different activities for students of grades one to nine on this World No-Tobacco Day.

Children of grades one and two were taught about the side effects that are created due to the usage of tobacco and they did a colouring activity. Grades three to five participated by writing slogan. Through their evocative ideas they tried to stimulate the short and long toll that tobacco takes on life.

The students of grades six and seven indulged themselves by making appealing posters about the deadly dangers. Grades eight to nine had a healthy group discussion, speaking about the harmful effects that the tobacco usage brings to the smoker, their family and community.

Grades 10 and 11 had ‘Digital Poster Making Competition’. The young minds actively voiced about health and healthy living for protecting our future generations.

Thus, this campaign helped students in making themselves understand what tobacco actually does to a person's health. They all pledged to urge their brothers and sisters and uncles and aunts to give up smoking for the sake of their precious lives and the lives of others that they hold dear to them.

Real-life begins when you come out of the fake comfort zone and indulge in the beautiful gifts of life because the journey of thousand miles starts with a single step. Take the first step to your goal by saying no to tobacco.

Happy World No-Tobacco Day!
